Hidden Treasure
South Florida’s landscape never ceases to surprise me. While working on the C44 Reservoir Project, the crew unearthed something unexpected—natural Honey Calcite, and not just ordinary chunks of it. Some pieces still held the shape and form of the seashells they had once been, crystallized over time into golden, translucent beauty.
There were hundreds of them, each one delicate, sparkly, and absolutely stunning. Holding them in my hands, I couldn’t help but think about the passage of time—how the ocean once covered this land, leaving behind shells that, over thousands of years, transformed into something entirely new yet still carrying their original imprint.
It was a reminder that even in the middle of a construction project, nature’s artistry is always waiting to be discovered—hidden just beneath the surface.
